Abstract: This paper treats the possibilities of analysing layers in oil-tanks using a reflectometer. First some basic principles and expressions are presented. After that examples of commonly used windows are shown and a new generation of windows developed. These are called Hammingfolded windows, and can have side lobe levels below -85 dB.
