Ideas for underwater 3D sonar range sensing and environmental modelingAuthors: Per G. Auran and Olli SilvenAffiliation: NTNU (Engineering Cybernetics) and University of Oulu (Electrical Engineering) Reference: 1996, Vol. 17, No. 1, pp. 63-73 |
Keywords: 3D sonar range sensing, data representation
Abstract: A 3D spatial grid for exploiting the range and direction information inherent in sonar range data is presented. Special attention is given to the realtime performance of this representation, i.e. it should be a feasible way of representing the 3D range data acquired by an operating AUV.
